• Must be tested for color contrast differentiation. The examination should demonstrate the capability of distinguishing and differentiating contrast colors or shades of gray. Frequency of testing is at initial certification and at five year intervals thereafter.

1. All facility maintenance mechanical, electrical, electronic, and the physical condition of building.

3. Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.

Summary:

Performs product inspection to verify compliance with customer specifications, welding codes and material specifications. Initiates, documents and monitors non-conformance reports to ensure products satisfy customers’ expectations. Maintains complete and accurate records of inspection activities.

1. Monitor all phases of work, from initial receipt of raw materials through shipment of the finished product to the customer.
2. Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
3. Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
4. Perform dimensional verification relating to the fit of components and product configuration.
5. Reviews plans, contract documents, and specifications required for fabrication and inspection.
6. Reviews shop drawings for potential fabrication and inspection problems.
7. Observe shop assemblies and assure that dimensions are obtained and recorded.
8. Monitor production welding and perform a final inspection of weldments for compliance with code and specification requirements.
9. Evaluate the workmanship of individual welders and notify production supervision when additional training is needed.
10. Witness the welding and testing of Procedure and Welder Qualification tests.
11. Initiates non-conformance reports, tags affected material and monitors the progress of repairs.
12. Under the direction of the Director of Quality, has the authority to act independently of manufacturing to ensure the quality policy and procedures are followed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, or any combination of education and experience.

• Certified to Structural and Steel Products written practice for UT and MT Level II per ASNT SNT-TC-1A.

• Must pass an annual eye examination, with or without corrective lenses, to prove near vision acuity in at least one eye on Jaeger number 2 or equivalent type and size letter at the distance designated on the chart but not less than 12 inches on a standard Jaeger test chart.
• Must be tested for color contrast differentiation. The examination should demonstrate the capability of distinguishing and differentiating contrast colors or shades of gray. The frequency of testing is at initial certification and at five-year intervals thereafter.
