Senior Accountant
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Structural and Steel Products, Inc. headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, manufactures and distributes products used in the highway construction end-market, including overhead sign structures, guardrails, crash cushions, lighting poles and bridge decking. In addition, SSP manufactures tubular structures used in the communication and power transmission industries.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Accountant key responsibilities will including financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, sales tax reporting and compliance, inventory reconciliation, and working with external auditors.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Prepares consolidation of company financial statements. Creates and communicates monthly financial reports, including variance analysis.
- Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset ledger, depreciation calculations, capital expenditure requests and compliance with the company capital expenditures policy.
- Reviews and analyzes invoicing monthly to ensure transactions are accurate, aligned with budgets, and in compliance with company policies.
- Reports monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax reports for applicable states for SSPI and SSPM and oversees property tax payments.
- Prepares documents and analysis required for the completion of external audits.
- Responsible for organizing and overseeing the year end physical inventory and cycle count process.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.
- Responsible for completing balance sheet reconciliations and researching variances.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 4-year degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- 4-6 years of similar experience.
- Manufacturing Accounting experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Excellent Excel skills and solid working knowledge with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP system and ability to learn, understand and follow related system transactions.
- Detail oriented, organized and strict adherence to schedules.
- Able to grasp, understand and prioritize issues and complete work as required.
